I want to thank everyone who have been praying and supporting me with this fight against thyroid cancer.

At the end of June I had a PET scan to see if the radioactive iodine (RAI) was effective.  On July 13th I spoke with my oncologist who told me the RAI was effective on my neck but there is a large infected lymph node in my chest and the 3 spots in my spine.  The doctor told me that she wanted me to do radiation ASAP.

After speaking to the radiation oncologist I will have a medication shot once a month to strengthen my bones. I will begin radiation treatments on Tuesday, July 27th.  I will most likely be staying in LA as the doctors are planning on 3 to 5 treatments, I will not find out till Tuesday how many they will have to do.

My spine surgeon is concerned about the 3 spots in my spine, one spot especially where the cancer has begun to eat through my T4. The surgeon believes that the shots and radiation will slow the deterioration.

I want everyone to know that I do not have any pain in my back and I feel fine physically. Of course, mentally it is hard.   I would love to get off this roller coaster.  I truly do appreciate everyone’s prayers and support.  I will attempt to do an update after the radiation treatments next week.
