It’s official. I am doing the RAI (Radioactive Iodine pill).  I have an appointment with the endocrinologist at Loma Linda on May 30^th to go over when this will take place. 

Meanwhile I have started the LID (Low Iodine diet) I am hopping I will only be on this diet for two weeks since it is a very hard diet to do so many limitations like: no salt, any dairy, bread. 

At this time, I am waiting on the insurance to approve my brain scan, hopefully it will be done before I see the endocrinologist on the 30^th. Once it is approved, I will need a series of shots. One a day for 3 days, the 4^th day I will take the RAI and will have to be secluded in my room for 5 days while I’m radioactive.  Within 7 days I undergo a WBS (whole Body Scan). The timing is important because the radioactive iodine will light up any affected areas and hopefully destroy them with Radiation.

Please pray the insurance moves quickly and approves these scans and treatments.  The insurance did not want to pay for the 3 shots last time, but they contribute to obtaining the best results from the RAI.
